Men's sandals dos don'ts

Men's sandals dos don'ts

Men's sandals dos don'ts. The warmer weather is upon us, meaning it's time to refresh the wardrobe. Now are the days to pack away the winter duds and take out the shorts and T-shirts for a new season. For many men, summertime also means donning sandals to keep feet cool and comfortable. But men's fashion experts warn there is a wrong and a right way to do sandals.
  • Don't pair sandals with socks. One of the worst sandal offenses is wearing sandals with socks. The purpose of sandals is to allow the wearer to shed his socks. What's the point of wearing sandals if the foot is covered in socks anyway?

  • Do avoid sandals that are bulky, with thick soles and straps.

  • Don't wear sandals that evoke visions of bygone, hippie eras. Many of these sandals feature a high price tag and aren't even water-resistant.

  • Do try a cross-strap sandal as an alternative to flip-flops. Just avoid faux-leather, otherwise you may look like a retirement home resident.

  • Don't cheap out on sandals. Because they're barely there footwear, you'll need the extra support for your feet.
